Swansea City pulled off one of the shocks of the season by beating Liverpool 1-0 in Wales on Monday.

Any player who may have believed that Swansea City were a lost cause can think again after Monday’s shock victory over Liverpool breathed new life into their survival bid.
The Swans contained a Reds team who ended runaway leaders Manchester City’s unbeaten Premier League record last weekend and nicked a set-piece goal through Alfie Mawson to secure a 1-0 win at the Liberty Stadium.
Those three hard-earned points lifted the Welsh outfit to within three points of safety.

Manager Carlos Carvalhal had previously admitted to Sky Sports that Swansea’s sticky situation at the bottom of the table was deterring possible signings from joining the club.
According to Sky Sports, the Swans failed in their attempt to sign Kevin Gameiro and Nicolas Gaitan from Atletico Madrid, and face a battle to persuade former forward Andre Ayew to rejoin the club from West Ham United.

However, the nature of last night’s triumph of Liverpool, and an improvement under Carvalhal which has seen them pick up seven points from four games, might make Swansea more of an attractive proposition.
Ajax winger Amin Younes is Swansea’s latest target, with Sky Sports claiming that a £9m bid has been lodged for the 24-year-old, who could not fail but be impressed by the performance against Liverpool.
Younes is a five-cap Germany international with 17 goals and 24 assists in 96 games for Ajax.
