The son of Alan Shearer has reacted on Twitter to an update about the Newcastle United takeover.

It’s been some two months since United owner Mike Ashley agreed a £300 million deal with Saudi Public Investment Fund to sell the club.

But the Premier League is yet to greenlight the sale of Newcastle due to allegations relating to broadcast piracy.

The Independent reported today that another reason for the delay is the league having its hands full due to Project Restart.

There’s been no Premier League fixtures since the first week in March due to the global health emergency, but football will return in England in six days time.

Here’s how Will Shearer reacted to the update on Twitter:

This response pretty much sums up how every Newcastle fan feels.

The longer the delay, the more anxiety that fans of the St James’s Park club will be feeling.

This would be a double boost for Newcastle supporters because not only would they be getting rid of their villainous owner – Ashley – they’d be replacing him with a group worth some £260 billion, enough to utterly transform the club.
