Celtic have been linked with Dundee ‘keeper Scott Bain since as far back as 2015 – but will he make the move to Parkhead this summer.

Celtic’s links with Dundee goalkeeper Scott Bain go back a long way. The Scotsman reported in 2015 that The Bhoys had identified the then-23-year-old shot-stopper as a possible replacement for Lukasz Zaluska after a fine breakthrough season for The Dark Blues.
And the Daily Record reported back in February of this year that Bain was once again on Celtic’s radar as he rejected the offer of a new contract at Dundee. It was something of a surprise, then, that the Edinburgh-born stopper was still plying his trade at Dens Park when the transfer window shut in August.
With Bain set to be a free agent in the summer, however, you wonder whether Celtic will make a third attempt to bring the now-25-year-old to Parkhead – although manager Neil McCann has not given up hope of holding onto their star man, per the BBC.

Though with even Elliot Parish, the goalkeeper forced to sit on the bench at Dundee due to Bain’s excellent form, saying his team-mate deserves a Scotland call-up, the shot-stopper should still be on Celtic’s radar.
Gordon’s successor?
“Fair play to Scott, he is playing some great stuff this season and all you can do is tilt your cap to him and be ready if ever the time comes that you get your chance,” Parish told the Evening Telegraph of Bain, who has been included in Scotland squad’s since 2015 without ever winning his first cap.
“The form he is in, he has to be really close to being involved in the squad.”

Celtic may be in need of a new goalkeeper come the summer with forgotten man Dorus de Vries out of contract and the likes of Leo Fasan seemingly a long way from challenging Craig Gordon (above).
It wouldn’t be a surprise if Bain was the man both the Bhoys and the Scotland national team turned to to eventually replace the veteran Scot.
