The Celtic duo were used sparingly by Brendan Rodgers’ predecessor.

Of all Ronny Deila’s decisions in his final year as Celtic manager, the one that confused more than most was his failure to give Ryan Christie and Scott Allan sufficient chances to impress.
When the two did feature, they invariably impressed, prompting many Celtic fans to question why they were not starting more matches, but with Brendan Rodgers now at the helm it will be interesting to see what the future has in store for the duo.

At just 21 Christie has his entire career ahead of him, and his versatility should stand him in good stead under the new Bhoys boss.
The fact that he also started Celtic’s final two matches of last season – scoring in the 7-0 hammering of Motherwell – is a plus. But at 24, Allan will know next season could be make-or-break in his career.

Rodgers will use this summer to assess his current playing squad while also bringing in some of his own players. However many Celtic fans out there will be hoping Christie and Allan impress in pre-season and get the chance to stamp their mark on the club come August.
They have the potential to form a superb partnership and they will be hoping the new manager does not share the thoughts of his predecessor in terms of their use.
