Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha watched Jamie Walker score last night.
Pedro Caixinha was at Tynecastle last night as Newcastle United beat Hearts 2-1 in a pre-season friendly.
According to The Edinburgh News, the Rangers boss has seen two bids – the latest being £600,000 – knocked back by the Jambos for Jamie Walker.
But given that the 24-year-old was on the scoresheet last night against Premier League opposition, should Caixinha finally stump up the money needed to sign him?
The Edinburgh News reported that Hearts are holding out for a £1 million transfer fee and surely the Rangers boss will sanction it on the back of this performance.
Even without his goal last night, the Ibrox club would look silly if they missed out on a quality player over refusing to pay an additional £400,000.
The Hearts winger netted 12 goals in 28 Premiership starts last season. He clearly knows the way to goal and he could be a huge asset for Rangers next term.
Caixinha has invested big in foreign imports so far, given that seven of his nine summer signings are either Portuguese, Mexican or Colombia, and it’s time that the 46-year-old backs tried-and-tested talent by signing Walker.
