Leeds United have a new man at the helm working alongside Massimo Cellino.

Leeds United have a new co-owner in the form of Andrea Radrizzani and the Italian’s first job could be to sanction moves during the January transfer window.

It remains to be seen if Leeds boss Garry Monk will be busy this month, but it would be surprising if Radrizzani did not mark his arrival with at least one new addition. After all, the Whites are fighting hard for promotion and will not want any regrets come May.

Similarly, if Leeds ultimately secure promotion back to the top flight, it will be up to Radrizzani to define his legacy.

Two players who could be available on loan this month are footballers Leeds fans know well in the form of Aaron Lennon and Fabian Delph.

The two men are struggling for game time at Everton and Manchester City respectively and here at HITC we have previously pondered the prospect of one or both returning to Elland Road.

The thing is: Radrizzani may not wish to be defined by what has come before, relying on the past to shape the future.

Instead it could be about looking for the new wave of talent that can take Leeds to the next level.

Should Lennon and Delph become realistic targets, be that in January or if Leeds return to the Premier League after far too long away, the club could have a big decision to make.

There is no doubt they – along with the likes of Max Gradel – would be welcomed back with open arms, but is that what Radrizzani wants?

A bright new future beckons at Elland Road, but only time will tell if that contains hints of the past and smatterings of unfinished business.
