Leeds United man has not even made the bench.
Leeds United signed so many players last summer it was hard to keep track, and most of them have not been success stories.
The most confusing deal of the lot was the move to sign Ouasim Bouy and then send him straight on loan to Cultural Leonesa.
Bouy’s spell at the Spanish club did not work out, and he returned to Leeds in January.
Back at Leeds, Bouy has not made a single first team appearance, and he has not even made the substitute’s bench.
Considering the club’s desperately bad form in 2018, Bouy’s continued omission is a combination of concerning and confusing.
This is a player who is 24-years-old, who has 92 professional games under his belt in Italy, Holland, Germany, Greece and Spain.
These include an appearance for Juventus, as well as featuring for Palermo, Hamburg, Panathaniakos and Brescia.
Bouy’s record in these matches includes six goals and 15 assists, where he has featured in both central midfield and defence.
But he is still not considered good enough to even make the bench for a struggling second tier Leeds United side?
He did recently feature last month for the under-23s in a win over Notts County, where he scored in a 4-0 victory.
Bouy’s first season has not gone to plan, he was supposed to be in Spain for it’s duration, and his inability to hold down a place there perhaps says a lot about the uphill struggle he was going to face at Leeds.
At this stage of the season Leeds’ season is already over and they need to start learning more about Bouy, who signed a four-year deal last summer.
Getting him involved before the season ends is important, if only for Leeds to gauge more of an opinion about a player whose wages they could be stuck paying for another three years.
