Nottingham Forest manager Mark Warburton wants defensive reinfocements at the City Ground and Arsenal’s Krystian Bielik should come under consideration.

Nottingham Forest fans will be breathing a sigh of relief as the Nottingham Post reports that a new centre-half is high on Mark Warburton’s list of priorities in the January transfer window.
Forest have been undermined constantly by shaky defensive performances in a difficult couple of years and that has not changed with the arrival of Warburton back in March. The East Midlands outfit have conceded 21 goals in the Championship so far this season. Only Burton Albion, Sunderland and Bolton Wanderers have let in more – and they are all in the relegation zone.
But who should be the first name on Forest’s wishlist in the New Year? Possibly Krystian Bielik, the young Arsenal prospect who was heavily linked with a move to the City Ground late in the summer transfer window.

The Nottingham Post reported in August that Forest were the favourites to land Bielik on loan but, once the window shut, the Polish youth international was still an Arsenal player.
Since then, however, the 19-year-old has not played a minute of football for The Gunners and a short-term spell away from The Emirates would certainly be beneficial.

Bielik spent a few months at Birmingham City last season, impressing in his ten Championship appearances. And the teenager’s ability to play at either defensive midfield or centre-half would make him a useful addition to Warburton’s Forest squad.
The Nottingham Post claimed that Forest are interested in reviving deals for Hibernian midfielder John McGinn and Brondby ‘keeper Frederik Ronnow in January. Perhaps Bielik should be back on their radar too as Warburton eyes defensive reinforcements.
