Will Nottingham Forest regret missing out on Jack Marriott?

Nottingham Forest boss Aitor Karanka has said that Jack Marriott was never a serious target at the City Ground.

Nottingham Forest must regret missing out on Jack Marriott, after his blistering start at Derby County.

Aitor Karanka has come out this week and told the Derby Telegraph that Marriott was never a serious target for Forest.

But the forward should have been higher up on the Reds’ transfer wishlist, as he could have been a brilliant addition.

Forest had plenty of strikers on their wishlist at the time, and they picked wisely with Lewis Grabban.

But if Marriott was also at the City Ground then the firepower at Karanka’s disposal would have been frightening.

Forest are already looking like they have a strong chance of claiming promotion this season, but with Marriott involved they could have been an even bigger threat.

And Karanka may regret not pushing harder for Marriott, now he has admitted that he never was too serious about the former Peterborough man after all.
