Jason Cummings may be a joker off the field but, on it, he is one of the most focused goalscorers around.
The stocky 21-year-old has broken the 20 goal barrier for three successive seasons at Hibernian, becoming the first player in over half a century to achieve such a feat. And this alone appears to have earned him a move to England with Nottingham Forest in excess of £1 million.
The Sun claims that former Rangers boss Mark Warburton could finally land Cummings after attempting to bring him to Ibrox.
However, after landing Hibs’ talismanic goal machine, you wonder whether Forest will return to Edinburgh for the player who beat him to the Scottish Championship’s Player of the Year award.
The Daily Record reported recently that Celtic made an offer of £1.5 million for creative hub John McGinn after Brendan Rodgers spoke publically of his admiration for the all-action central midfielder.

However, with Cummings seemingly heading for the exit, Hibs are likely to tighten their grip on the 22-year-old, who has earned three caps for Scotland despite playing in the second tier.
Yet, blessed by the backing of former Olympiakos chairman Evangelos Marinakis, Forest have plenty of funds to play with this summer and they should at least test the waters with a bid for Cummings’ partner-in-crime.
After all, with Ben Osborn continuously linked with a move to newly promoted Newcastle United, as reported by The Mirror, McGinn could be a ready-made replacement if the homegrown favourite does indeed bid farewell this summer.
