Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Will Norris has spoken highly of new January signing Rafa Mir to Express & Star.

Mir recently joined Championship club Wolves from Spanish outfit Valencia in the January transfer window.

According to The Mirror, the Wanderers had to pay Valencia a transfer fee of £2 million in order to secure the services of the 20-year-old forward.

The Spanish youngster has arrived at the Molineux Stadium with a strong reputation and has worked with Wolves head coach Nuno before – at Valencia.

Mir made his first-team debut for the Wanderers at the weekend, playing in the FA Cup third-round tie against Swansea City at the Molineux Stadium last Saturday afternoon.

The 20-year-old forward did not start the tie against the Premier League club, but the youngster came on as a substitute in the 77th minute.

Wolves goalkeeper Norris, who joined the Championship club from Cambridge United in the summer of 2017, has praised Mir and has given his impression of him in training.

Norris told Express & Star about Mir: “He’s not been in the building long but from what I’ve seen in training he does have tremendous quality and brings something different to the group.

“The boss has worked with him and knows what he’s about so he’s an exciting signing for us. From what I’ve seen he’s nippy and scored a few in training, he’s an exciting prospect.”
