Many Arsenal fans have been left less than impressed by Shkodran Mustafi’s parting tweet to Mesut Ozil.
Mustafi and Ozil were known to be very close in the Arsenal dressing room, and the £35 million German defender (BBC Sport) wanted to pay tribute to his friend on social media.
However, Mustafi’s tweet has been taken as a dig at Mikel Arteta by many Arsenal fans.
And there now questions over whether Mustafi will ever play for the club again, after his latest public message.
Ozil’s departure from Arsenal was finally announced at the weekend, as he moved to Fenerbache.
Mustafi has also been linked with a move away from the Gunners this summer, but whether he will get a move remains to be seen.
Arteta did say recently that Mustafi remained in contention for selection recently, and that he had been ‘very close’ to picking him (Football London).
However, it remains to be seen how he will react to Mustafi’s latest conduct on Twitter.
Arsenal are next in action this evening, when they take on Newcastle United.
