Leeds United are understood to be mulling over a move for Red Bull Salzburg’s talisman Moanes Dabour in January.
Moanes Dabour has a tough decision to make ahead of the January transfer window. According to The Mail, Leeds United are weighing up a move for the striker, who has a hugely impressive 14 goals in 19 games for Red Bull Salzburg this season.
But with Dabour sitting top of the Austrian league with Salzburg and having secured their place in the knockout round of the Europa League by sitting four points clear of Marseille in Group I, it would certainly be a bold decision to give all this up to move to England’s second tier.
Obviously swapping Austria for West Yorkshire would provide Dabour with far more exposure and, more than likely, a highly-increased bank balance.
But it’s fair to say that Dabour is unlikely to be topping a league table any time soon, not to mention playing European football, at Elland Road.
Leeds are understood to be in the market for a striker in January as Thomas Christiansen’s side aim to stay within touching distance of the play-off places and avoid a repeat of the collapse that ruined their hopes of promotion last season.
And considering just how impressive Dabour has been in front of goal for Salzburg this season, netting 11 times in just 14 league games, it is easy to see why the Israeli international is on their radar.
The question, however, is whether Dabour would see Leeds United as a step up from a Salzburg side that have launched countless careers over recent years.
