Tottenham Hotspur have allowed talented young midfielder Will Miller to join Championship side Burton Albion on a six-month loan.

Miller was given significant exposure this summer after being included in the club’s senior squad in the visit to Australia, playing against both Juventus and Atletico Madrid in an unfamiliar left-back position.

The youngster, who was previously famous for having starred in a BBC production of Oliver Twist when he was younger, has played in a variety of roles within Tottenham’s various age ranges, though he has most often featured as an attacking midfielder.

The Brewers may have brought the 20-year-old in on loan to replace the departing Calum Butcher, himself a former Spurs academy graduate, who left for Millwall earlier on Thursday.

Miller, who will be at the Pirelli Stadium until January, told the Burton media team that he was both thankful and eager to make use of his time under Nigel Clough, with the player likely to experience his competitive debut at the club.

“I’m very thankful for the opportunity and to be involved with the club,” Miller told the club’s Youtube channel. “I’m happy to be able to contribute wherever I can.

“The club has great heritage and the Championship is a big step and is a high level that I’m really looking forward to.”

Miller is one of a number of Tottenham outgoings in recent days, joining fellow graduate Nabil Bentaleb in leaving on loan ahead of the club’s Champions League draw.
