The Aston Villa midfielder is back in contention and could play a major role in the months ahead.

For months Aston Villa midfielder Mile Jedinak has been struggling with a groin injury, robbing manager Steve Bruce of one of his most important players. But the 33-year-old’s 30-minute run-out against Birmingham City on Sunday suggested he was finally ready to put his recent woes behind him.
Jedinak could be the missing piece of the jigsaw when it comes to Villa’s promotion push; the player to get stuck in at integral times of the season, including the busy festive period and the vital final few months when nerves can get the better of even the most experienced players.

Jedinak adds steel, passion and innate talent to a Villa side that is tantalisingly close to being the complete package – at least when it comes to earning promotion from the second tier – and Bruce will be desperately hoping that he returns unscathed from international duty with Australia next month.
Villa have quietly and effectively turned their early season problems on their head, and they are now one of the sides most likely to finish in the top six come May.

Even with the experience of Glenn Whelan and the resurgence of Conor Hourihane, Jedinak’s presence in the centre of the park cannot be understated and Villa fans should see that in the months ahead.
