The Leeds United youngster should get more chances if Gaetano Berardi is utilised on the left of defence.

With each passing day, the likelihood only increases that Leeds United will wave goodbye to left-back Charlie Taylor this summer.
The 23-year-old is out of contract at the end of the current campaign and his future seems to be away from Elland Road, and while the thoughts of fans are already turning to potential replacements, could one Leeds player be hoping the Whites do not sign a new out-and-out left-back in the close season?
Lewie Coyle is one of Leeds’ most highly rated young players but his progress has been hampered by injury and competition for places this season.
With fellow right-backs Luke Ayling and Gaetano Berardi also on the books at Leeds, Coyle’s chance of a breakthrough any time soon is limited.
However, if Whites boss Garry Monk opts to stick with Berardi on the left next season – possibly signing a new centre-back who can also offer cover on that side of the field when necessary – it would allow Coyle to act as backup to the ever impressive Ayling.
There are a lot of ifs, buts and maybes to this scenario, but it is perhaps the only one that will allow Coyle to get close to the Leeds first-team in the next few years.
