Will Leeds United target double Liverpool deal with Danny Ings and Yan Dhanda?

Leeds United wanted Yann Dhanda in the summer and are now keen on his Liverpool team-mate Danny Ings.

Pierre-Michel Lasogga may have done a fine job replacing Chris Wood at Leeds United but Danny Ings could be a signing that takes Thomas Christiansen’s side to the next level.

According to ESPN, Leeds are hoping to take the injury-stricken striker on loan in January after two serious knee injuries turned his dream Liverpool move into a nightmare. Ings has not played a single minute of league football since the latter stages of 2015/16 but his track record in the Championship appears to be enough to justify Leeds taking a chance on the one-time England international.

Ings scored 21 goals in the second tier in 2013/14, spearheading Burnley’s promotion to the Premier League. Leeds will be hoping that he could have a similar impact in West Yorkshire.

With talented Liverpool starlet Yan Dhanda crying out for a chance to prove himself in senior football, however, you wonder whether Ings will be the only Reds attacker Leeds try to sign in January.

Danny and Dhanda

The Mail reported in August that Leeds, as well as Nottingham Forest and Bristol City, were hoping to land 18-year-old creative prince Yan Dhanda on loan in the summer.

The teenager himself was keen to secure first-team football though Liverpool, who have invited Dhanda to train with the first-team recently, were less convinced about a move with the teenager out of contract next summer.

Yet, a short-term switch to Elland Road could give the one-time West Brom starlet, who models his game on David Silva and Liverpool’s own Philippe Coutinho, the chance to prove he is ready for senior football.

A series of dazzling displays at Under-23 level suggest he has rather outgrown youth-team football. And Dhanda should have no trouble fitting in in a Leeds side who get the best out of their creative talents.
