Leeds United were linked with Emi Buendia in 2017, and he may now be on his way to their Championship rivals if reports are correct.

According to a report from the Eastern Daily Press, Norwich are closing in on a £1.5 million deal for Getafe’s Emi Buendia following his impressive loan at Cultural Leonesa – the Spanish side that enjoy a partnership with the Canaries’ Championship rivals Leeds United.
Indeed, Leeds were actually linked with a move for Buendia. The Sun on Sunday reported back in September (17/09/17; page 63) that the Whites were considering putting a deal together for the young playmaker after his blistering start to the loan spell.

Leonesa would end the campaign by being relegated, but Buendia arguably did a superb job of trying to keep the side in the second tier as he finished the season with 13 assists. Only two players managed more.
And that is perhaps why Leeds should be concerned that they possibly made the wrong call not acting sooner with Buendia now looking destined for Carrow Road, according to the Eastern Daily Press.

Leeds’ transfer record has been sketchy over the past 12 months, but Buendia’s record suggests that he would have been worth the gamble, especially when you consider that he is only 21 and offers the ability to play on either wing.
And with Norwich reportedly set to pay just £1.5 million to make a deal happen, it seems entirely possible that Leeds could end up reflecting on a potential missed opportunity – if they previously decided against moving for the wide-man – as he appears to have the ability to prove an absolute steal for the Canaries this summer.
