Leeds United are already targeting one Manchester City goalkeeper, could they switch targets.
Earlier this transfer window Leeds United were linked with a move for Manchester City youngster Angus Gunn, by the Yorkshire Evening Post.
Gunn spent last year on loan at Norwich and is tipped as a future England international.
Here is where the situation could change, with Leeds United appointing Marcelo Bielsa last week.
Bielsa is Claudio Bravo’s old international coach for Chile, selecting him as international captain for World Cup 2010.
Clearly still a fan, Bielsa attempted to sign Bravo for Lille last summer, The Mirror reported.
Bravo is 35, and despite only signing for Mancheser City in 2016, he has earned one Premier League winner’s medal and one EFL Cup.
It would make more sense for City to promote Gunn and move Bravo on, and Bielsa is one of the only managers who could tempt him to leave.
Adding him to the Leeds squad would benefit the rest of the team, with Bravo used to Bielsa’s methods.
He told Goal in 2011: “He is a very difficult person to decipher, but he is also one of the best coaches in the world.”
The sticking point would be wages. No way about it, Bravo would have to accept a reduction in salary.
This must be counterbalanced with the attraction of being number for Bielsa, as opposed to sitting on the bench at City.
At 35, Bravo will not have too many opportunities left.
