David Provan has claimed in The Scottish Sun that 12 players will leave Celtic in the summer transfer window.

The Celtic legend has also criticised the club’s chiefs for not sending any positive message to the fans.

The former Celtic star has suggested that the Hoops may not be able to sell as many season tickets as they have done in the past if things do not change.

Provan wrote in The Scottish Sun: “What is going on at Celtic? Neil Lennon has gone, Peter Lawwell is going, Scott Brown is tipped for a role under Stephen Glass at Aberdeen.

“Around a dozen players will leave this summer and a new sporting director needs hired before new supremo Dominic McKay arrives.

“Meanwhile, we haven’t heard a word from Dermot Desmond or chairman Ian Bankier. Good luck with season- ticket sales.”

Celtic are in turmoil

It has been a very bad reason for Celtic. Neil Lennon has left as the manager, and the Hoops are still on the hunt for his permanent successor.

Rangers have won the Scottish Premiership title, meaning that the Bhoys could not achieve their objective of making it 10 in a row.

While the Gers are likely to end up in the Europa League quarter-finals, Celtic could not do much of note in the European competition this season.

There could be a massive squad overhaul at the Hoops this season. As reported by The Scottish Sun in December 2020, Scott Brown is out of contract at the Scottish giants in the summer of 2021, while the loan deals of Shane Duffy, Diego Laxalt and Mohamed Elyounoussi will come to an end.

The likes of Odsonne Edouard and Ryan Christie have been linked with exits, according to the report.
