Shkodran Mustafi is on his way out of Arsenal but the club has no plans to terminate his £90,000-a-week deal, the defender’s agent and father has told Transfermarkt.
After Mesut Ozil and Sokratis Papastathopoulos were allowed to leave for free, speculation suggests a £35 million Germany international will be the next to have his contract torn up.
Mustafi has played just three minutes of Premier League football since the start of November and, after falling behind Gabriel Magalhaes, Pablo Mari and Rob Holding in the pecking order, Mikel Arteta won’t stand in his way if an offer arrives before Monday’s transfer deadline.
But any club keen to sign Mustafi must pay a fee – or wait until the former Valencia stopper’s contract expires on 1 July.
Because, according to Mustafi Sr, a contract termination isn’t an option.
“The fact is, Shkodran will leave the club in summer at the latest,” Kujtim Mustafi explains.

“I also read the rumours yesterday that Shkodran could terminate his contract. To clarify, there are currently no discussions about a contract termination.”
Mustafi earns an eye-watering £90,000 a week at the Emirates and his eventual departure would free up funds for more signings (Spotrac).
Martin Odegaard is expected to arrive on loan from Real Madrid, filling a Mesut Ozil-shaped hole in Arsenal’s squad.
In November, Sport1 claimed a return to Germany would be Mustafi’s preferred option, with Eintracht Frankfurt one potential destination.
