Aston Villa are set to take on Fulham at the weekend, and Tottenham Hotspur youngster Josh Onomah should be handed a chance.
With Jack Grealish and Albert Adomah both doubts for Aston Villa’s match with Fulham this weekend (Birmingham Mail), Josh Onomah could be handed his golden chance to win his place back.
Since Grealish has returned to fitness, Villa have generally dropped Onomah back to the substitutes’ bench.
The Tottenham Hotspur loanee has not started any of Villa’s last seven matches, and he has been dropped at the point when Steve Bruce’s side have hit their best run of form of the season.
Villa have won their last seven league matches on the bounce, to climb into second place.
It was hard to see how Onomah was going to force his way back into Villa’s starting plans, but injury may provide him with a chance.
The Spurs youngster is capable of playing in any of Villa’s three places behind the striker, which means he could replace either Grealish or Adomah.
And if the pair are ruled out with injury, then Onomah looks likely to get the nod at Craven Cottage, with the pressure on him to impress.
