Youngster Will Hughes recently signed a new contract with Derby County, showing how his maturity levels have grown in the process.
For as long as the footballing world can remember, top teams have been linked with signing Derby County stand-out Will Hughes. The young talent made an instant impact when first coming onto the scene in the Rams first team, attracting attention from Premier League sides whilst still trying to develop his talents as a player.
The natural progression would suggest that he’d have moved away by now, but instead the 21-year-old has remained loyal to the team that nurtured him and as a result is quickly turning into a mature fan favourite at the club. Recently, he signed a new contract and expressed his joy over the situation as you can see in the quotes from the Derby Twitter account.
There was a period of time where people criticised Hughes for his supposed diving, especially in the play-off final against QPR, but he appears to have grown out of those tendencies and is getting stronger on the ball with each passing week.

Whilst the interest from Premier League sides has certainly dwindled, that doesn’t mean Hughes isn’t still improving. His all-round game is benefiting greatly from the cohesive unit that the Rams are forming, and you would imagine he won’t stop until Derby’s return back to the top flight is finally secured.
