Heung-Min Son’s place in Tottenham Hotspur’s starting line-up looks far from certain with Lucas Moura in such good form.

Heung Min-Son could genuinely return to Tottenham Hotspur fighting for a place all over again, due to Lucas Moura’s brilliant form this season.

Son has been allowed to go to the Asian Games to represent South Korea, but in his absence, Moura has really stepped up.

The Brazilian was kept in reserve after signing in January, with Mauricio Pochettino wanting to ensure he was fully up to speed before throwing him into the line-up.

However, Moura now looks to be a player transformed, and his showings over the early part of the season have been nothing short of sensational.

Moura scored a brilliant goal for Tottenham against Fulham in their last home match, but it was his performance last night, against Manchester United, which really seemed to be his breakthrough display.

Moura terrorised United’s defence, and scored twice, as Spurs picked up a 3-0 win at Old Trafford.

The flying forward scared United’s defence with his pace and directness, and that could make things difficult for Son when he returns.

Son, who is on an £85,000-a-week contract, unquestionably, is a superb finisher and his work-rate makes him a favourite among the Spurs fan base.

However, he doesn’t have the same lightening pace as Moura does, and that proved so important in transition for Spurs yesterday.

Pochettino may now feel that Moura has become the better option, and Son’s time on the sidelines at Tottenham could be an extended one.
