West Bromwich Albion and Wolverhampton Wanderers target Ahmed Musa is “likely” to seal a return to the Premier League after terminating his contract with Al-Nassr, agent Tony Harris has told Sport Express.
In November, a host of top-flight clubs were offered the opportunity to sign a Nigeria international winger desperate to prove himself in England after a disappointing spell at Leicester City.
Newcastle, Crystal Palace, Burnley and Sheffield United had all been made aware of Musa’s availability (TEAMtalk).
But, three months after cancelling his lucrative £31 million deal with Al-Nassr, it seems a serious proposal has finally arrived on Musa’s desk.
The 28-year-old has been training with West Brom as he looks to earn a contract at the Hawthorns (Telegraph).
Baggies boss Sam Allardyce is a long-time admirer, although Wolves and Fulham have also been watching closely (Daily Mail).
And while Harris was unwilling to reveal Musa’s next destination, he did admit a return to Britain was on the cards.
“Most likely, Ahmed will go to England,” Harris explains.
Musa had also been in talks over a return to CSKA Moscow, where he lifted three Russian league titles between 2013 and 2016.
But it seems the Premier League is his top priority.
Then again, Musa could be forgiven for having second thoughts about joining West Brom after Tuesday’s dismal showing against Manchester City. A 5-0 home defeat has Baggies fans fearing relegation.
