Raphinha against Newcastle United on Tuesday evening.

The Brazilian was once again outstanding for Leeds as he moved back to his preferred position on the right wing.

It’s not hard to understand why supporters were waxing lyrical about him, Raphinha got a goal and an assist as Leeds won a tight game away from home, and if he hadn’t been on the pitch, Leeds may have failed to overcome Newcastle.

Fortunately, Raphinha was able to turn the tide for Leeds, and afterwards he was getting the credit he deserved from the fanbase.

Some very interesting comparisons were made on Twitter to former South American stars Rivaldo and Alvaro Recoba, but perhaps the most interesting point of view that emerged online was about how much of a bargain he seems.

We have to say that £17m looks like a snip for him now, and Victor Orta should be very proud of sniffing out this deal.

Fingers crossed the Brazilian can keep this sort of form up for the rest of the season, because he’s been an absolute joy to watch during his first six months in England.

Here’s what the Elland Road faithful have been saying about Raphinha.
