Speaking on the Eleven Football YouTube channel, Louis Saha has been discussing his former manager David Moyes and the excellent job he’s doing at West Ham.

Moyes has transformed the Hammers from relegation candidates to genuine European contenders, and the Scot is getting the credit he deserves for doing such a fantastic job.

Saha says he’s not shocked to see his former gaffer doing so well, but he’s warned the London club that a bigger club could come in for Moyes.

What’s been said?

Saha spoke about Moyes.

“I’m not surprised at all that he’s doing so well at West Ham after a few different spells. The thing he improved is the way he captivates the movements forwards. It’s smoother than it was when I was at Everton and now everyone has a freedom to play with flair, so as a manager he has improved. That’s the worry for the Hammers’ project, because he’s doing so well, I’m sure the manager will expect at some point that he will get a bigger offer, and that will be a worry for West Ham,” Saha said.

Grass isn’t greener

A bigger club may well try to get Moyes out of West Ham, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he will go.

If any manager ought to know that the grass isn’t always greener at a bigger club, it’s Moyes.

Moyes was doing a stellar job at Everton and he was incredibly settled when Manchester United came calling in 2013, and within less than a year, he was jobless and his reputation had taken a massive hit.

Slowly but surely, his stock has risen again, and you have to imagine he’ll be wary of history repeating itself if another top club came in for him.

Moyes could be approached by an elite club in the coming years, but his best bet may be to stay at West Ham.
