Will Ollie Watkins’ impressive form for Brentford following a summer move from Exeter convince Leeds to revive their interest in the youngster?

On a day of absolute worldies for Brentford, Ollie Watkins arguably scored the pick of the bunch as he rounded off a 3-0 victory in the Championship against Bolton Wanderers.

The 21-year-old received the ball out wide on the left before cutting inside and sending a curling effort past the outstretched arm of goalkeeper Ben Alnwick as the Bees secured their first win of the season and moved out of the relegation zone as a result.

It has been a decent start to his career at Griffin Park for Watkins with three goals in 11 games following a summer move from Exeter City – where he had been named EFL Young Player of the Year during 2016/17.

The Greater London team did well to secure the services of the forward with getwestlondon reporting that Aston Villa, Leeds United and Nottingham Forest were also in the chase.

Yet despite missing out on Watkins a few months ago, could Leeds be tempted by the youngster’s impressive form to revisit their interest in the near future?

The Whites have made a flying start to the new campaign and currently top the table after a 3-2 win at home against Ipswich at the weekend and as topscorers with 17 goals, are hardly struggling to find the back of the net.

However, Watkins remains an appealing prospect due to being a young English attacker who can play on either wing or through the middle and the Yorkshire outfit have previous when it comes to promoting talent who have previously impressed in League Two, with Kemar Roofe joining from Oxford United in 2016.
