Gab Marcotti has shared that prosecutors have asked FIFA to extend Fabio Paratici’s 30-month ban from Italian football to ‘worldwide’ as Tottenham Hotspur’s mangining director gets engulfed into the allegations thrown at Serie A giants, Juventus.

The Italian football expert shared that whatever happens to Paratici – and if it does affect his role at Spurs – then that won’t spiral down to the manager, Antonio Conte, because the duo ‘aren’t blood related’.

It was pointed out that when Paratici and Conte have worked together before, the latter has walked out, so he won’t stay or leave the Tottenham dugout based on what could or couldn’t happen to his fellow countryman.

Juventus, not for the first time in their recent history, have been engulfed in a mess both on and off the field of play.

The Italian giants have been handed a 15 point deduction in Serie A for alleged financial irregularities and false accounting, as reported by Sky Sports.

When all of that news filtered through to England, a lot of Spurs fans did ask the question, will this affect us? And will Paratici be banned from his duties at Tottenham also? Well, Marcotti provided all of that information, as he told ESPN.

“As part of this judgment a whole bunch of Juventus officials were banned, including the former president, Andrea Agnelli, who was forced to resign in November,” said Marcotti. “He has been banned for two years.

“Fabio Paratici has been banned for two-and-a-half years. There are two elements to this. One is that he has this appeal coming up together with Juventus. Also, remember Juventus can take the case to CAS, the Court of Arbitration for Sport as well, before the ban becomes definitive.

“The other element is. Will this ban be extended worldwide(for Paratici)? Prosecutors have asked FIFA to extend it to a worldwide ban, which is possible and it wouldn’t be unprecedented

“That’s going to impact whether he can continue, then I think Spurs are going to weigh up the negative publicity that comes from this. What it means for Paratici?!

“In terms of what it means for Antonio Conte. The guys have worked together before – and Conte has still walked out. There is no question that Paratici has a ton of respect for Conte. Maybe it’s mutual. They’re not blood relatives. I don’t think Conte’s decision is going to necessarily depend on the future of Fabio Paratici. If Conte wants to move on at the end of the season, then he is going to move on, with or without Paratici.”

ANTONIO CONTE’S FUTURE

This time last season, Spurs, following the ill-fated spell of Nuno Espirito Santo, were back up and running under Conte.

From a last-minute at Watford, stunning comeback win against Leicester, thumping Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United and outclassing Arsenal in the north London derby.

It was going oh so well under Conte, including the multiple Serie A title-winner securing Champions League football for Spurs ahead of Arsenal.

Yet, fast forward to the present and the mood couldn’t be more different and much-changed on either side of north London, with suggestions that Conte will now leave Hotspur Way at the end of the season.
