Villarreal manager Unai Emery is reportedly pushing to sign Tottenham midfielder Giovani Lo Celso this week, with the La Liga side eager to bring the Argentine back to La Liga on a permanent deal.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Yellow Submarine will continue talks this week to sign Lo Celso for good, with the 26-year-old set to leave north London this summer after falling out of favour with Antonio Conte, with Emery signing the Tottenham star on loan last season to great effect.

Lo Celso played a key role in Villarreal’s run to the UEFA Champions League semi-finals, and with Spurs looking to sell, the Spanish side are looking to bring the former Real Betis star back to Spain for good, though a deal is proving hard to reach with Tottenham.
Mauricio Pochettino signed the midfielder in a deal worth a reported £42m in total, one of the most expensive Tottenham have ever made in their entire history, yet for Conte, Lo Celso does not fit in the Italian’s plans, with Villarreal now looking to bring the South American back to the Estadio de la Ceramica.
Despite his links to Arsenal, Emery is seemingly a huge fan of Lo Celso, with the Spanish manager keen to reunite with the Argentine international ahead of the new La Liga season, and Villarreal will have to work fast if they’re to sign the Tottenham outcast this week.
Indeed, Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici will both want a good fee for Lo Celso given how much investment has gone into the midfielder in recent years, but for Villarreal, they could well sign the 26-year-old if they work hard enough to bring the talented Argentine back to Spain, something all parties seemingly want to do.
Villarreal can wrap up Lo Celso signing if Tottenham aim for quick sale

Tottenham have done some impressive business this summer in terms of incoming, but sales have been difficult to pull off, yet for Lo Celso, the north London side should bite the bullet and work as fast as they can to offload the midfielder, especially with Villarreal interested in signing the Argentine.
After all, getting the South American and his wages off the payroll will be a huge boost for Tottenham if they’re to make a late move this summer, and for Lo Celso, the midfielder is clearly keen to return to Villarreal and to play for Emery on a permanent basis.
