Lee Hodson was tipped to swap Rangers for Charlton Athletic this summer – and Ibrox team-mate Harry Forrester may join him at The Valley.

The fact that Harry Forrester played just seven minutes of football under Pedro Caixinha, all coming in his first game at the helm in March, suggests that the winger doesn’t have much of a future at Rangers.
Though the 26-year-old rejected claims that he had been excluded from the squad due to a poor attitude in training, the Daily Record claims that Forrester will nonetheless be let go by the Glasgow giants this summer.
And Charlton Athletic could be his destination. HITC sources told us that Caixinha has made Forrester surplus to requirements as he looks to free up space in his squad for further additions, and The Addicks may jump at the chance to bring him back to England.
The former Aston Villa youngster has an impressive track record in League One, starring at both Brentford and Doncaster Rovers. Therefore, his eye for goal and creativity from out wide could come in handy for a Charlton side aiming to build on last season’s disappointing mid-table finish.
And you wonder whether Forrester will be joined at The Valley by one of his Rangers team-mates. The Scottish Sun claimed last month that Addicks boss Karl Robinson was interested in understudy right-back Lee Hodson, who started just 10 games after arriving from MK Dons last summer.
The Daily Record claimed that the Northern Ireland international was more likely to stay at Ibrox than fellow right-back James Tavernier. However, he is likely to remain second choice in Caixinha’s plans, a factor that may push him towards the exit this summer.
