Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers visit Celtic in a Scottish Premiership clash at Parkhead later this month.
The international break hasn’t officially even started yet and many Celtic and Rangers fans already can’t wait for it to end.
That’s because the Hoops and Rangers face one another immediately after the two-week hiatus, at Parkhead on March 31.
But one Celtic player might be missing the chance to get a bit of revenge on one Gers star.
There’s an element of bad blood between Bhoys goalkeeper Craig Gordon and Ibrox marksman Jermain Defoe, who accidentally broke the Scot’s arm in 2009.
Gordon – then at Sunderland – opened up on the incident when Defoe signed for Rangers in January, telling The Express that he even rejected the chance to speak to the 36-year-old over the phone after the injury.
Even though he added that he was over it, Gordon would have loved to keep a clean sheet against Defoe in the Old Firm – but will he play? Probably not.
He hasn’t kicked a ball for Celtic in 2019 yet, even after Neil Lennon replaced Brendan Rodgers who originally dropped him for Scott Bain.
And unless Bain gets injured on international duty with Scotland, it seems certain that he will be the one facing Defoe and Rangers at Parkhead later this month.
