Calvin Miller has just signed a new contract at Celtic, but is being linked with a loan to Sunderland.

Calvin Miller has signed a new contract at Celtic which will keep him on the books with the Scottish champions until the summer of 2020, but his latest comments should prompt Sunderland into action.
The 20-year-old told Celtic’s official website that he was looking to leave Brendan Rodgers’ side on loan this summer after sharing his delight at putting pen to paper on a new deal.
TeamTalk claimed back in June that Sunderland wanted to sign the Scotland youth international on loan, with new Black Cats manager Jack Ross using Scottish football as a main scouting pool after leaving St. Mirren this summer.
Miller, who is now third choice left-back at Celtic after Rodgers decided to bring back Honduran Emilio Izaguirre after he left the club last summer, stated that he is looking to leave on loan in a bid to play regularly.
“My main focus just now is to find the right team to go on loan to and secure a position where I can play every week. I need that experience and the quicker I can do, the better for me and the club when I come back next year,” Miller said.

Surely, then, Sunderland will be put on red alert and begin preparing a bid for the exciting young defender, after first being linked with a move two months ago for Miller.
A move to the League One outfit would surely benefit all parties involved, with Miller desperate for first-team football, Celtic keen to see him progress and Sunderland wanting to land his signature.
