Reports claim Sam Allardyce will be sacked by Everton this summer, so will Burnley’s Sean Dyche be considered once again?
Everton are preparing a shortlist of managers to replace Sam Allardyce this summer, according to the Daily Star, with the club not viewing the Englishman as the person to take them forward in the long-term.
Shakhtar Donetsk boss Paul Fonseca is once again being considered, while Atletico Madrid’s Diego Simeone and former Barcelona chief Luis Enrique are viewed as outside shots.
Marco Silva, who was the Toffees’ first choice back in October when Ronald Koeman was sacked, is a more uncertain prospect since his dismissal by Watford.
A different choice
Yet if the club does get rid of Allardyce will rumours of Sean Dyche leaving Burnley for Goodison Park once again begin to surface?
Sky Sports reported after Koeman was axed that Dyche was the favourite to succeed the Dutchman, while even two weeks before the job was given to Allardyce the 46-year-old was still being asked about whether he was going to take it – as highlighted by the Liverpool Echo at the time.
The Clarets may not have won a game since December 12, but thanks to a strong start to the season still remain seventh in the Premier League currently and three points ahead of the Merseysiders – whom they host this weekend.
Not bad for a team many tipped for relegation this term and if they can maintain that place then surely Dyche will once again be in the mix if Allardyce is to be replaced?
