Bolton Wanderers winger Will Buckley has set his sights on Leeds United, after reflecting on his disappointing spell with the club in an interview with the Bolton News.

Leeds host Bolton at Elland Road on Friday afternoon, and will be hoping to collect just a second win of 2018 as manager Paul Heckingbottom seeks an end-of-season run of form.

However, opponents Bolton are in desperate need of a win themselves, given that they sit just six points clear of the relegation zone, and a win would go a long way to securing their Championship status.

One player Phil Parkinson can call upon is winger Will Buckley, who has a miserable spell on loan with Leeds during the 2015-16 season having been signed by Uwe Rosler.

Buckley joined Leeds on loan from Sunderland, but made just four Championship appearances for the Whites, three of which were substitute appearances.

Since then, Buckley has bounced around with Birmingham City, Sheffield Wednesday and now Bolton, with injuries contributing with his disappointing few years.

Now, Buckley told the Bolton News that he wanst to go back to Elland Road and win on Friday, dreaming of scoring a goal against his former club as he looks to claim three points against the Whites to aid Bolton’s survival hopes.

“My time at Leeds didn’t go well,” said Buckley. “I was only there for a short time but I didn’t play and it would be nice for me to go back there and get a win, maybe a goal. They are a big club and they started really well when they beat us on the opening day of the season. I thought they looked a really good team. We have picked up a lot since then so I think it will be a lot closer game,” he added.
