How will Celtic slot new loan signing Filip Benkovic into their side?
Celtic secured the loan signing of Leicester City defender Filip Benkovic in the summer, but it remains to be seen on how manager Brendan Rodgers will slot him into his side.
The Bhoys have been flexible with their formation under Rodgers, but could he prefer a three-man defence moving forward?
Benkovic is a 6ft 4in giant centre-back that arrives at Parkhead with a lot of potential and he will hope to develop with the Scottish champions.
The 21-year-old Croatian is a no-nonsense powerhouse that is strong in the air, but is also extremely comfortable with the ball at his feet and can pick a pass.
He cost Leicester £13million (Independent) in the summer and it seems logical that he will get a chance in Celtic’s starting XI.
One way he could slot into the side would be as part of a back three, where he has all the skills to be successful.
Dedryck Boyata and Kristoffer Ajer could be the two frontrunners to join him as part of the backline, which would give Celtic a physical set of defenders.
They also have the likes of Jozo Simunovic, Jack Hendry and Mikael Lustig as alternative options in defence to choose from.
Celtic fans could possibly see more of a 3-4-3 formation in the future, with Kieran Tierney and James Forrest deployed as wing-backs.
But Rodgers could opt against that to stick with the more common four at the back and look to find a partner for Benkovic.
