Speaking to PLZ Soccer, Charlie Adam has been discussing Michael Beale and his links to Rangers.

Beale has been strongly linked with a return to Ibrox, and Adam is rather intrigued by these rumours.

Indeed, the pundit thinks that Beale will get the job, and he’s intrigued to see how the current QPR boss handles his backroom team if he is appointed as the new manager.

Adam pondered whether he’ll bring back some of the coaches he worked with under Steven Gerrard at Rangers, or if he will try to bring some of his own team from QPR over to Glasgow with him.

Beale’s backroom team

Adam spoke about Beale’s backroom team.

“We’ll see what comes of it but I think it will be Michael and it will be interesting to see who his backroom staff will be made up of. Will he bring back some people who were there before? Will he go with the people at QPR if they can get an agreement done?” Adam queried.

Tough decisions

If Beale is to accept the Rangers job he will have some tough decisions to make here.

Taking QPR’s backroom team would feel like something of a betrayal after pledging his loyalty to the west London club just last month when he was offered the Wolves job, while bringing the Rangers cohort back may be easier said than done.

Let’s not forget, the Rangers staff was Steven Gerrard’s backroom team, not Beale’s and they may be waiting for Gerrard to get his next job.

That’s before we even mention Gerard himself, does Beale ask him to come in and be his assistant? Yes, it’s a backwards step, but the former Aston Villa boss does need to regroup and perhaps re-educate himself before taking another big role.

Beale certainly has a lot to ponder here.
