Tottenham Hotspur have already missed out on one reported transfer target today.
Borussia Dortmund have confirmed the addition of Thomas Meunier after his contract at Paris Saint-Germain expired.
The Belgian defender had been linked with a move to Tottenham in recent weeks and months, but that one won’t be happening.
And neither will a deal to sign Arthur Melo, it seems.
Back in April, Mundo Deportivo reported that Spurs were interested in the Barcelona midfielder, but Guillem Balague has revealed on Twitter today that he’s set to join Juventus in a swap deal that’ll take Miralem Pjanic to Camp Nou.
If Tottenham were genuinely interested then this will be a big disappointment, especially in light of developments regarding Tanguy Ndombele.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Ndombele, a club-record signing for £63 million last summer, will leave North London this summer after falling out with head coach Jose Mourinho.
Arthur, like Ndombele, can operate in a number of midfield roles and if the Frenchman goes, that’s one less option for the Lilywhites to pursue now.
