Jose Mourinho has suggested to Football London that Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Erik Lamela should be back in January 2021.
Lamela has missed Tottenham’s last few matches with injury, and he is still suffering with a problem.
The Argentine winger did not train with the rest of his teammates today, but he was out on the grass doing some drills.
And Mourinho has suggested that Lamela should be back sooner rather than later.
“Erik came out after the training cameras went off,” he said.
“I have nothing to hide. He was in the gym and then came out on to the pitches. We have lots of games coming up and in January and hopefully Lamela will be back for that.”
Mourinho’s comments mean that Lamela will miss Tottenham’s game tomorrow, which comes against Antwerp in the Europa League.

Spurs are also set to be without both Serge Aurier and Pierre Emile Hojbjerg for Thursday’s game.
“Serge will miss the game yes because he had that problem before Arsenal,” Mourinho said.
“He had a reaction from the game. Pierre, no problems, just the fact that he couldn’t play again. Now is his time, because we always try to give a rest to some players.”
The news that Hojbjerg is being rested will come as no surprise, as Spurs will certainly be keen to ensure that he stays fresh, given his increasing importance to the team.
Tottenham are next in domestic action against Crystal Palace at the weekend, and Hojbjerg will be almost certain to start at Selhurst Park.
