Some Leeds United fans on Twitter are raving about Rangers winger Ryan Kent’s performance against Celtic this afternoon.
Rangers secured the bragging rights in Glasgow by edging out their Old Firm rivals with a 1-0 win at Ibrox today.
The Athletic reported earlier this month that Leeds have been tracking the player for two years – and may still pull the trigger on a move this summer.
The 24-year-old has a £20 million release clause in his Gers’ deal under Steven Gerrard and it remains to be seen if Victor Orta and Marcelo Bielsa like him that much.
But some Leeds fans certainly do and here’s how they reacted to his display against Celtic:
Subpar
It wasn’t even anywhere close to being one of Kent’s best games against the Hoops.
Lord knows that the former Liverpool winger has had some stand-out performances in Old Firm wins for Rangers, with Mikael Lustig and Scott Brown feeling the brunt of his speed and tricks down the years.
But Anthony Ralston kept him on a relatively short leash today, a shot against Joe Hart’s post notwithstanding.
As for Leeds, well they could do with additional wide support.
Bielsa’s side have only managed two points from a possible nine in the Premier League so far after a 1-1 draw with Burnley today in which they didn’t create anywhere near as much as they perhaps should have.
Time will tell whether they officially go back for Kent, amid all the speculation and talk of recent weeks.
