Leeds United sold the midfielder to Huddersfield back in 2012.
Leeds United sold Alex Mowatt this month. The local lad was sold to fellow Yorkshire side Barnsley for a fee reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post to be in the region of £500,000, in a deal that caught many Leeds fans by surprise.
He was the club’s player of the year two seasons ago and is still full of talent, but had fallen down the pecking order under Garry Monk and was sold on.

But will it come back to bite them, like the sale of Adam Clayton?
Leeds brought Clayton in from Manchester City in 2010 but he never truly got a chance at Elland Road. He spent time out on loan at Peterborough and MK Dons before being sold on to Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield Town in 2012 in search of more regular first-team football and a lucrative contract offer.

He has since gone on to be a star at Huddersfield, move on to Middlesbrough and last season he helped the Teesiders to promotion to the Premier League.
Mowatt certainly has the potential to let Leeds regret his sale just as much as Clayton has since he left Elland Road.
