Quite a lot of Liverpool fans on Twitter are imploring Gini Wijnaldum to sign a new contract and stay at the club.
The Netherlands international has been one of the Reds’ best and most consistent performers again this season.
But with his contract expiring in six months, it’s a nervy time for Liverpool as we approach January.
The former Newcastle United midfielder is eligible to sign for a foreign club next month and officially join them in the summer.
And with Barcelona and Inter Milan linked, Liverpool need to tie him down as soon as possible, if that’s still their intention.
Wijnaldum starred again on Saturday as Jurgen Klopp’s side thrashed Crystal Palace 7-0 at Selhurst Park.
And earlier today, the 30-year-old posted a single-word message on his Twitter – the word ‘Team’ followed by a couple of emojis.
Here’s how fans of the Premier League champions responded, with a lot of them saying virtually the same thing.
Even if he does sign for somebody else, it’s important that Liverpool don’t sell him.
Thiago Alcantara has only played 132 minutes of Premier League football since September and even when he’s back, Klopp will still need Wijnaldum.
It’ll be a hectic second half of the campaign for the Reds and success is just a lot more likely if Liverpool keep him until the summer, even if it means missing out on a fee.
