Liverpool fans on Twitter have reiterated their desire to see Gini Wijnaldum sign a new contract and stay at the club.
Wijnaldum was the Reds’ unsung hero on Thursday night as Jurgen Klopp’s side picked up a first Premier League win since before Christmas by beating Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 in North London.
It was a typically tireless display from the Netherlands international and such performances might be a thing of the past for Liverpool in the future.
That’s because the 30-year-old is out of contract at Anfield this summer and despite being offered a new deal, Wijnaldum is yet to sign one.
Technically, the former Newcastle United midfielder is allowed to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs right now, but it has been reported that the player is holding off on that.
He took to Twitter after Liverpool’s win last night, revealing that he was proud of his team-mates.
