HITC Sport understands Wigan are lining up a move for Reading defender Tyler Blackett.

Wigan Athletic are planning to raid Championship rivals Reading for defender Tyler Blackett when the transfer window reopens next month, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Wigan boss Paul Cook is keen to bolster his side’s defensive options and he has targeted a move for Reading’s Blackett.
Blackett offers versatility as he is equally adept at playing at centre-back as well as left-back and Cook is looking to strengthen in both of the positions at the DW Stadium.
Cook is planning to strengthen his squad in the January transfer window as he aims to avoid a relegation fight in the second half of the season.

Blackett came through the ranks at Manchester United and made 12 first-team appearances during his time at Old Trafford before joining Reading in the summer of 2016.
The former England Under-21 international has been a regular in the Reading side since joining the club and he has made over 80 appearances for the Royals to date.
Reading could be reluctant to lose the 24-year-old as they battle to secure survival in the Championship, but Wigan are hoping the opportunity to return to the North West will help them lure Blackett away from the Madejski Stadium.
