Leeds United beat Wigan Athletic 2-0 on Saturday afternoon.

Wigan Athletic boss Paul Cook has told Leeds Live that he thinks Leeds United will have a ‘strong season’ after beating his side 2-0.
The Whites travelled to the DW Stadium in search of another win, and were helped on their way as Latics midfielder Joe Williams was sent off in the first half.
Patrick Bamford struck Leeds in front shortly afterwards, and he found the net again in the second half to secure a 2-0 victory for the Whites.
That result gives Leeds seven points from three Championship games, and leaves them top of the table at this early stage of the season.
As one of the favourites to go up, this won’t be a surprise to many, and Marcelo Bielsa is making the perfect start to the season after missing out on promotion in dramatic circumstances last season.

Some may point that Wigan were down to 10 men for much of the game, but they didn’t give Wigan a sniff, and that’s what has made the Whites so effective under Bielsa.
After the game, Wigan boss Cook predicted that Leeds will have a ‘strong season’, and admitted that it’s always going to be hard against a team of that quality with 10 men, and Leeds fans will take great delight in receiving such plaudits from rival managers.
