Emiliano Martinez’s wife, Mandinha Martinez, has dropped a hint that the Arsenal man is heading for the exit door by following reported club Aston Villa on Instagram.

The Independent have reported that Martinez has agreed to personal terms with Villa after a strong end to the 2019/20 Premier League campaign, but in a potential twist, Football London, also claimed that the goalkeeper has also agreed to terms with Brighton.

But judging by who his wife is now following on her Instagram, it seems he is heading to the West Midlands and not the South Coast:

This would be a very good signing for Villa because they are getting a 28-year-old whose career is on the up.

After years and years of trying to be that number one at Arsenal, Martinez finally got his wish when Bernd Leno suffered an unfortunate injury against Brighton in June.

Martinez won over the Arsenal fans by helping them win the FA Cup and then top it all off by beating the Premier League champions Liverpool in the Community Shield.

Many Arsenal fans were debating who should be Arsenal’s number one between Martinez and Leno, even though the latter has perhaps been their best player after Aubameyang last season.

Even though Mikel Arteta would have clearly wanted him to stay and provide serious squad depth in the goalkeeping department, it seems what is now Arsenal’s loss is soon going to be Aston Villa’s gain.

Given the positive words the Arsenal fans have to say about their player, it’s quite clear that Villa are getting a strong character and a quality footballer on their hands.
