Newcastle United and Manchester City are linked with the Nigeria international.
Austria Wien director Franz Wohlfahrt has told the club’s official website that reported Newcastle United and Manchester City target Olarenwaju Kayode is negotiating with another club, away from Austria.
Score Nigeria reported on Friday that Newcastle were set to sign the 24-year-old striker in a “matter of days”.
But that report was gazumped by Own Goal Nigeria who claimed that Manchester City were set to hijack the Magpies’ interest in Kayode, who scored 17 goals last season to win the Golden Boot in Austria’s top flight.

It remains to be seen where he ends up, but Wohlfahrt confirmed that he is in talks with a foreign club over a move away from the Austrian capital.
“Kayode is negotiating abroad. We are already very far with the club and it is possible that there will be a change in the foreseeable future,” he told Austria Wien’s website.
Newcastle kick off their Premier League season by hosting Tottenham on Sunday and manager Rafael Benitez needs a new striker this summer.
Aleksandar Mitrovic and Dwight Gayle simply won’t cut it. Well, they’ll do their bit, but neither is a 20-goal-a-season hitman in the top flight and missing out on Kayode – who has 30 goals in 62 appearances for the Austrian outfit – would be a big blow.
