Some Manchester City fans have been left riled after Sky Sports tweeted out an injury table, which showed Liverpool at the very top of it.

Liverpool’s players have missed more days than other teams’ this season through injury.

It offers an explanation over why the Reds have struggled so badly to defend their title, and now don’t even look certain of claiming a top four place.

However, the graphic has frustrated some City supporters, who feel that Sky are giving Liverpool preferential treatment.

They say that they were not given the same excuses whenever they weren’t winning the league.

And have hit back at the broadcasters graphic on social media website Twitter.

It is true that other sides have suffered with injury, but few have had to deal with so many at the same time as Liverpool have this term.

The Reds are without all three of their first choice centre-backs, in Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip.

And while the problems shouldn’t totally excuse Liverpool’s poor form of late, it should go some way to explaining why they haven’t been able to keep pace with a City side, who have been absolutely relentless for most of this season.
