Leeds United midfielder Adam Forshaw has been questioned for his comments on the ‘Leeds That’ podcast.
Leeds are currently leading the way in the Championship, and remain the favourites for promotion.
And Forshaw’s confidence that his teammates would get over the line was clear for all to hear earlier this week.
“I’m convinced [Leeds will earn promotion], I’m not just saying that or being biased as we’re all Leeds,” the midfielder said.
“There will be no one as driven as us and I know how we train behind closed doors.
“I think it’s going to be a formality for us. That’s my personal view. I think we’ll romp it.”
Forshaw’s forthright comments may please some Leeds fans, as it shows just how much belief their side appear to have.
But other supporters of both Leeds and neutral sides have questioned whether making such outlandish statements in public is a clever tactic.
Leeds will be hoping that the break in play has not disrupted their momentum.
Marcelo Bielsa’s men went into the break having won their last five games in succession, before play was suspended.
Leeds return to action with a game against Cardiff City in just over a week’s time.
