Jamie O’Hara has appeared to mock Ben White for joining Arsenal, arguing that Tottenham Hotspur is a much bigger attraction for transfer targets.

Arsenal haven’t finished above their bitter North London rivals in the Premier League since the 2015-16 campaign.

However, there is a strong chance that normal service resumes this season because the Gunners are three points clear of Tottenham in the race for a top-four finish – and Mikel Arteta’s side have a game in hand.

However, O’Hara, a former Spurs player, is certain that his old club is a far greater draw for transfer targets this summer, arguing that the club’s stadium and training ground pale its equivalent at Arsenal into insignificance.

He said live on talkSPORT: “Number one, Tottenham have got an incredible stadium, one of the greatest stadiums in the world, [they’ve got] the best training ground in the world, one of the best managers in the world, one of the best strikers in the world, one of the best left wingers in the world.

“If you’re looking at a football club that you’d go to, you’d go to Tottenham. Why would you go to Arsenal? Unless you’re Ben White from Brighton…”

Cheap shot

It’s a bit of a dig from O’Hara on the £120,000-a-week [Spotrac] Arsenal defender, who joined the Emirates Stadium outfit for £50 million last summer.

But bizarrely, you can’t criticse White for joining the Gunners.

Not yet, anyway.

That’s because as mentioned, Mikel Arteta’s side are fourth in the Premier League table, three points above Tottenham with a game in hand.

Anyone who joined Arsenal last summer is completely vindicated and even moreso if Arteta does clinch Champions League qualification.

Spurs are hosting their neighbours on the penultimate week of the Premier League campaign [Daily Mail], after the original date was postponed, and what a massive game that could turn out being.
